Why the Co-op Exists
Sanctuaries and smallholders deserve a place in sustainable fashion.
The fashion industry is hungry for ethical, traceable natural fibre — but individual sanctuaries don't have the supply volume to enter that market alone. The Sheepkind Co-operative changes that. Together, we do.
Supply
Pool your fleece
We aggregate ethical fleece from member sanctuaries, giving us the combined volume to supply fashion brands and textile buyers who couldn't work with smaller individual farms.
Process
Share our infrastructure
Members access our processing and distribution network. We handle the logistics — you focus on the animals. Every fleece is logged, traced, and linked to its source farm and sheep.
Market
Reach the industry
We connect our co-operative's collective output directly to sustainable fashion brands, textile designers and buyers actively seeking ethical British wool with documented provenance.
Who Can Join
If you keep sheep
with love, your wool
belongs here.
The co-operative is open to any organisation or individual who keeps sheep primarily for their wellbeing — not for meat or intensive wool production.
We particularly welcome:
Rescue sanctuaries
Farms that have rescued sheep from the meat industry or poor conditions and provide them a permanent, peaceful home.
Ethical smallholders
Small farms keeping sheep primarily for wool, with high animal welfare standards and no slaughter of their flock.
Welfare-first keepers
Individuals who keep sheep for companionship or land management, with fleece as a natural by-product of ethical shearing.

★ Wool Innovation Award
Recognised for what's possible.
We won a Wool Innovation Award for our approach to traceable, cruelty-free sanctuary wool. We believe that award belongs to every sanctuary willing to do things differently.
Joining the co-op means your farm benefits from the recognition, the network, and the market access that recognition opens up.
"We want to share what we've learned with every sanctuary willing to take part. The industry is ready for this — we just need the collective supply to meet it."
